Monkey Evolution Tier List

This is not an esports ranking. Monkey Evolution has no PvP ladder. The list ranks creatures by what they do to a capped board: income, merge fuel, collection, or dead weight.

S: empty tiles and the current top idle producer

The highest-value “unit” on any stage is an empty tile. The second is whatever mutation currently prints the most coins without blocking a pair. If those two fight, keep the hole. Income you cannot merge is a stall. Details on holes sit in beginner tips.

A: feeders of the current shop floor

Lowest-tier shop monkeys and the first two mutations above them are how you climb. They look boring next to a banana-sash giant. They are the reason the giant exists. Buy them on purpose. Rank them above cosmetics. The shop guide is the shopping list; this tier is the reason that list is short.

B: named mid mutants you want in Monkeypedia

Belzebaboon, the horned sage, river apes, and the unicorn-horn sitter are why people screenshot the game. Keep one for the log, then merge duplicates. A coloring-room celebrity that occupies a cap slot forever is a C-tier decision wearing an S-tier skin. Paint it, photograph it, fuse it. Customization does not raise this rank.

C: visitors and stalled uniques

Impostors, aliens, and any unique that will not pair belong here until you have a dedicated edge of the board. They are not useless. They are expensive. If a review says “I wish I could get rid of the alien,” that player parked a C-tier unit in an A-tier slot.

D: obsolete bottoms after a stage change

When the shop floor rises, leftover starters from the previous zone become souvenirs. Merge them if a partner exists. If not, they are the first things you sacrifice when the cap bites. Do not buy more of a floor the shop no longer sells “for old times.”

S-late: Holy Monkey, Titans, Monkey King, Pantheon gods

These are campaign goals, not early ranks. A Titan on a young board is a vanity stall. A Pantheon god after Recreate Universe is an S-tier bonus engine. Timing is the rank. See how to get Titans and Pantheon before you treat them like shop pets.

Re-rank after every stage unlock. The evolution chart tells you the cost of moving a creature up a letter.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the merge loop, Pantheon, and codes.

Is there a single best monkey?

The best monkey is the one that either prints coins or completes a pair without filling the last tile. Names change by stage.

Should I keep one of every species?

Monkeypedia already keeps them. The live board should not.

Where does Holy Monkey sit?

Late S as a collection target. Early D if you freeze a young stage for it.
